APR 14, (V7N) - The first group of New Zealand cricketers arrived in Dhaka today ahead of their upcoming white-ball series against Bangladesh, with the remaining squad members expected to land later tonight around 11:00pm, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials confirmed.
The visitors will play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) during their three-week tour. Due to franchise commitments, at least 10 first-choice players have opted out, but captain Tom Latham said the series offers “opportunities for younger players or those with less experience than usual.”
The ODIs are scheduled for April 17, 20, and 23, while the T20Is will be held on April 27, 29, and May 2. Matches will be split between Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium — hosting the first two ODIs and the final T20I — and Chattogram’s Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium, which will stage the third ODI and the first two T20Is.
According to the schedule, the visitors will rest on Tuesday before beginning training at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
