The gymnastics venue at the Paris 2024 Olympics is turning heads with its soothing pastel palette, offering a refreshing backdrop for the athletes. The Bercy Arena's apparatus podiums feature teal and blue geometric designs with light pink accents, earning playful comparisons to a "Barbie Dreamhouse" from U.S.-born gymnast Luisa Blanco, representing Colombia.

The light, pastel colors extend to the individual apparatus, including the green-accented vault table and the ombre green legs of the balance beam and pommel horse. NBC broadcaster and 2008 U.S. team silver medallist Samantha Peszek noted that the equipment's toy-like appearance adds to the charm.

The design, inspired by the Art Deco movement of 1924 when Paris last hosted the Olympics, aims to reflect Parisian elegance and style. The deliberate choice of calming colors is meant to minimize distractions for the gymnasts. U.S. coach Jess Graba commented that the color scheme provides a soothing environment, contrasting with more intense designs seen at previous Games.

Gymnasts have expressed their appreciation for the calming effect of the venue. Canadian three-time Olympian Shallon Olsen and Romania's Amalia Ghigoarta both praised the aesthetic as an inspiring change from the traditional red-and-white schemes of past Olympics. For first-time Olympian Frederick Richard, the green pommel horse was particularly striking, contributing to a comfortable competition experience.
