Islamabad, Apr 30 (V7N)- Pakistan's Information Minister Ataullah Tarar has claimed that India may launch a military strike against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours, citing intelligence reports. The potential retaliation, he said, would be in response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which killed at least 26 tourists and injured several others.

Speaking at a press conference, Tarar said the Pakistani government had received reliable intelligence suggesting imminent Indian military action. He warned that India was acting as a “self-proclaimed judge, jury, and executioner” and rejected New Delhi’s accusations as “baseless and fabricated.”

The attack in Pahalgam, allegedly carried out by the Resistance Front, a Lashkar-e-Taiba affiliate, has further strained Indo-Pak relations. The Modi government has directly blamed Pakistan, while Islamabad strongly denies any involvement, claiming it is itself a victim of terrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level security meeting on Tuesday, intensifying speculations of a military response. Official Indian statements remain guarded, but the tone has been assertive.

Tarar reiterated that Pakistan condemns terrorism in all forms and opposes attacks on civilians, emphasizing the risks such actions pose to regional peace.
