Dhaka, Nov 05 (V7N) — Swedish Ambassador Nicolas Weeks has expressed optimism that the upcoming COP-30 Climate Summit will bring concrete solutions to the long-standing issue of compensation for countries most affected by climate change.
He shared his views on Wednesday morning (November 5) while unveiling the cover of the book “From Ground to Global: The Loss and Damage Dashboard for Climate Equity”, focused on climate justice and loss and damage.
Ambassador Weeks said the ‘Loss and Damage Dashboard’ was jointly developed by Oxfam and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) to ensure fair global discussions on climate impacts.
Organizers noted that the dashboard aims to highlight the lived experiences of communities suffering from climate-induced displacement, cultural loss, psychological trauma, and environmental degradation — often overlooked in global climate debates.
Speakers at the event added that developed nations frequently delay or dispute the true extent of climate damage, and this dashboard will provide evidence-based data to challenge such narratives and push for equitable climate action.
