JERUSALEM, March 1, (V7N) - Israel’s military said Sunday it was responding to missile fire from Iran, with air raid sirens activated across central Israel and parts of the occupied West Bank.

“Sirens were sounded in several areas across the country, following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel,” a military statement said. It added that the Israeli Air Force was “operating to intercept and strike threats where necessary.”

The incident marks a dangerous escalation in regional tensions, with Israel directly acknowledging missile launches from Iran. Sirens across central Israel and parts of the West Bank prompted civilians to seek shelter as defense systems engaged incoming threats.

This development comes amid heightened confrontation between Israel and Iran, with both sides trading warnings in recent weeks. Analysts warn that direct missile fire could signal a new phase in the conflict, raising fears of broader regional instability.
