Iran's Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Mohammad Bagheri, asserted that all targets struck in Israel have been successfully hit. Bagheri stated that unless Israel retaliates, Tehran has no intention of launching further attacks on the country.
Following Iran's drone and missile strikes on Israeli territory on Saturday, Russia has deployed warships to the Mediterranean Sea.
Bagheri clarified that the attacks exclusively targeted military installations, such as the Israeli intelligence base on Mount Hermon, which Iran alleges was involved in the airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. The Nevatim airbase in Israel's Negev desert was also struck, purportedly in retaliation for its role in the consulate attack.
According to Bagheri, both targets sustained significant damage, with Tehran capable of delivering even more potent strikes if provoked further by Israel.
Iran has reportedly conveyed a message to the United States through the Swiss Embassy, warning that any US support for Israel via bases and military installations in the region would jeopardize the security of US bases, installations, and officials.
Meanwhile, Russia's Ministry of Defense announced the deployment of the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, armed with Kinzhal supersonic missiles, to the Mediterranean via Egypt's Suez Canal. This move comes amidst escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, further heightening the geopolitical dynamics in the region.
