Canadian authorities have arrested three Indian nationals on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was killed in Canada last year. The suspects, identified as Karan Brar (22), Kamalpreet Singh (22), and Karanpreet Singh (22), have been charged with conspiracy and first-degree murder. Photos of the suspects have been released by law enforcement agencies in Canada.

According to police reports, the three individuals had been residing in Alberta for the past three years. While the authorities assert that they had no prior knowledge about the accused, they are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. Additionally, they are probing whether the Indian government had any involvement in the murder.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was accused of various crimes in India, had been living in Canada prior to his death. He was fatally shot in front of a gurudwara in June last year, leading to diplomatic tensions between Canada and India. Following the incident, Canadian President Justin Trudeau accused India of involvement, resulting in the expulsion of diplomats from both countries.

Recently, Trudeau's attendance at an event organized by the separatist organization Khalistan further exacerbated tensions with India. In response, India took proactive measures, including summoning Canada's Deputy High Commissioner stationed in India, signaling heightened diplomatic activity between the two nations.
