PARIS, Feb 24, (V7N) – Achraf Hakimi scored twice and Ousmane Dembele continued his fine goal-scoring form as Paris Saint-Germain edged Lyon 3-2 on Sunday, extending their unbeaten Ligue 1 campaign.

After a goalless first half, Hakimi opened the scoring in the 53rd minute, finishing a cutback from Bradley Barcola. Dembele doubled PSG’s lead soon after, dribbling into the box and unleashing a fierce shot into the far corner.

Lyon pulled one back through Rayan Cherki in the 83rd minute, but Hakimi responded almost immediately to restore PSG’s two-goal cushion. Corentin Tolisso struck in stoppage time for Lyon, but it was too late to deny PSG another victory.

With 18 wins and five draws in 23 matches, PSG now sit 13 points clear at the top of the table, remaining unbeaten against French opposition since May last year. Coach Luis Enrique praised his team’s discipline, emphasizing their "emotional and physical control" during the game.

Lyon, meanwhile, remain sixth in the standings and have now lost two of their four matches under new manager Paulo Fonseca. Their Champions League qualification hopes suffered a setback, as they now sit five points behind the top four.

PSG's next challenge is a French Cup quarter-final clash against fourth-tier Saint-Brieuc on Wednesday, followed by a Ligue 1 showdown against Lille. Their highly anticipated Champions League last-16 first-leg match against Premier League leaders Liverpool is set for March 5.

Elsewhere in Ligue 1, Marseille suffered a controversial 3-0 loss to Auxerre on Saturday, with club officials accusing referee Jeremy Stinat of unfair decisions. Club president Pablo Longoria even claimed "corruption" played a role in the defeat.

In other results, Nice defeated bottom-placed Montpellier 2-0 to close in on Marseille, while Lille secured a 2-1 win over Monaco. Strasbourg and Brest played out a goalless draw, while Nantes boosted their survival hopes with a 3-1 victory over Lens. Toulouse also triumphed 4-1 against struggling Le Havre, who have now lost seven consecutive home games.
