Dhaka, Apr 12 (V7N)- Bangladeshi cricketer Liton Das is returning home without playing a single match for Karachi Kings in this season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to a finger injury sustained during practice.

Liton confirmed the news himself through a post on his verified Facebook page on Saturday (April 12), expressing his disappointment.
"I was really looking forward to playing PSL for Karachi Kings. But God had different plans. I injured my finger during the practice session," he wrote.

Following the injury, it was revealed that Liton has suffered hairline fractures in multiple fingers, which will require at least two weeks of recovery. As a result, the right-handed batter has left the Karachi Kings camp and is set to return to Bangladesh.

Liton had been picked by Karachi Kings in this season’s PSL auction, and had also obtained a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to participate in the full tournament. His debut in the PSL was highly anticipated by fans, especially after stints in other international leagues like the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Lanka Premier League (LPL). However, the wait to see him in PSL action will continue due to this untimely injury.

In total, three Bangladeshi players were drafted into teams in this year’s PSL. While Rishad Hossain has already joined Lahore Qalandars, pacer Nahid Rana is expected to join the Peshawar Zalmi camp following the first Test match against Zimbabwe.

The injury comes as a blow not only to Liton and his team but also to fans who were eagerly awaiting his PSL debut.
