Apr 12 (V7N) – Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket superstar, has ended his eight-year association with German sportswear giant Puma. Despite Puma's interest in renewing their partnership, Kohli chose not to extend the contract, which had previously expired.
The brand had reportedly offered Kohli a lucrative deal worth ₹300 crore for another eight years, but Kohli declined the offer. His initial contract with Puma, signed in 2017, was valued at ₹110 crore, indicating that he was not willing to accept a significant increase in the contract value, rejecting a threefold rise in money.
Now, Kohli is looking to expand the scope of his lifestyle brand 'One8', which is at the forefront of his business endeavors. The cricketer is expected to collaborate with Agilitus, a company founded by Abhishek Ganguly, the former Managing Director of Puma India and Southeast Asia. Agilitus, established in 2023, specializes in supplying sports equipment both domestically and internationally, and there are possibilities of a partnership between 'One8' and Agilitus in the future.
Kohli is currently occupied with the ongoing IPL season, where his team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, is performing well, sitting fourth in the points table with 3 wins from 5 matches.
