The action-packed Everest Pharma Mini School Handball Tournament continued on its second day (Saturday) at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city, as fourteen matches - eight boys' and six girls' - unfolded, as per a press release.
In the boys' section, Sunnydale dominated with a 20-1 victory over Khaled Haider Memorial High School, while Nirjhor Cantonment Public School & College secured a 6-3 win against South Bridge School. Motijheel Govt. Boys High School narrowly defeated Kodomtota Purbo Basabo School & College with a score of 4-3, and Model Academy clinched a close 6-5 victory over BAF Shaheen School & College. Cambrian School & College showcased their prowess with a 6-2 win against Wills Little Flowers School, while South Point School edged past Narinda Govt. High School with a 3-2 scoreline. Saint Gregory High School triumphed over BAF Shaheen School & College by 4-3, and Ideal School and College, Motijheel, secured a convincing 7-0 win against Ideal School, Mugda.
In the girls' section, Nirjhor Cantonment Public School & College emerged victorious with a 3-2 win over Wills Little Flowers School, while Sher-e-Bangla Girls College dominated South Bridge School with a 7-0 victory. Sunnydale displayed formidable performance, defeating Ideal School, Motijheel, with a commanding 9-0 win. Shaheed Bir Uttam Lieutenant Anwar Girls College secured a 4-0 victory against Kodomtota Purbo Basabo School & College, and Viqarunnisa Noon School & College thrashed Nirjhor Cantonment Public School & College with an impressive 8-0 win. BAF Shaheen College and Ideal School, Mugda, played out a 1-1 draw.
The tournament, sponsored by Everest Pharmaceutical Limited and organized by BHF, features a total of 28 school teams - 16 boys' and 12 girls'. Notable participants include Sunnydale, Saint Gregory High School & College, Viqarunnisa Noon School & College, and Shaheed Bir Uttam Lieutenant Anwar Girls College, among others, highlighting the competitive spirit and enthusiasm among young athletes.
