Jhalokathi, Sept 4 (V7N) - An orientation session was held in Rajapur Upazila of Jhalokathi district on Wednesday, September 3, as part of the upcoming typhoid vaccination campaign. The event took place at the premises of the Upazila Primary Teachers’ Association building.

The orientation was organized by the Rajapur Upazila Health and Family Planning Office and led by Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Abul Khayer Mahmud Russel. The session aimed to prepare educational institutions and their leadership for active participation in the nationwide immunization effort.

Upazila Secondary Education Officer ABM Harun-or-Rashid presided over the meeting. Keynote speeches were delivered by Md. Zahidul Islam, Headmaster of Rajapur Model Pilot High School, and Maulana Md. Zakir Hossain, Principal of Rajapur Kamil Madrasa. They emphasized the critical importance of raising awareness among students and parents regarding the typhoid vaccine.

Headteachers from all educational institutions within the upazila were present at the orientation. The campaign is expected to contribute significantly to the prevention of typhoid fever among children and adolescents in the region.
