In a devastating turn of events, at least 15 Palestinian non-combatants lost their lives on Friday, January 5, as a result of Israeli airstrikes targeting residential areas in Khan Yunis and Deir el-Balah in the Gaza Strip. The information was reported by Al-Jazeera, citing the Palestinian state news agency Wafa.

According to Wafa's report, the Israeli military conducted airstrikes on two residences situated in Al-Hakar in Deir el-Balah and Al-Manara in Khan Yunis, both located within the central Gaza Strip. The toll on civilian lives was particularly severe, with the majority of victims being women and children.

Local sources in Gaza, as cited by Wafa, revealed that one of the strikes targeted a residence in Al-Manara, located in the eastern part of Khan Yunis. This specific attack resulted in the tragic loss of 10 lives, with the majority of the victims comprising females and youngsters. The assault also left several people injured, who were subsequently rushed to the European Hospital in Khan Yunis for medical treatment.
