Tehran, July 06 (V7N) — Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has made his first public appearance since the recent 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel. Khamenei attended an Ashura ceremony at the Imam Khomeini Mosque in Tehran on Saturday (July 5), local time.
According to a Reuters report, Khamenei was seen entering the mosque as attendees chanted slogans in support. The event was broadcast live on Iranian state television, showing the Supreme Leader taking part in the religious commemoration.
This marks Khamenei’s first public outing since June 13, when Israel launched a major raid on Iranian targets. For security reasons, he had refrained from public events during the conflict, instead addressing the nation through pre-recorded messages from undisclosed locations.
Khamenei’s reappearance comes as tensions between Iran and Israel remain high following the brief but intense conflict.
