Karachi, Nov 26 (V7N) — Pakistan has rejected allegations made by the Taliban government accusing Islamabad of conducting airstrikes inside Afghanistan.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday (November 25), Pakistan Army spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry dismissed Kabul’s claims as “baseless.” He insisted that Pakistan did not carry out any attacks, adding that Islamabad’s fight is “not against the Afghan people, but against terrorism.”
Earlier, Afghan authorities accused Pakistan of launching airstrikes in several provinces, including Khost. Kabul claimed that at least 10 people — nine of them children — were killed in the alleged attack.
The tensions come amid growing hostility along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Last month, clashes between Taliban fighters and Pakistani forces left hundreds dead on both sides. Relations deteriorated further after Islamabad accused Kabul of sheltering the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a charge the Taliban leadership has repeatedly denied.
