Caracas, Jan 03 (V7N)- The US military has reportedly carried out a strike in Venezuela, capturing President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, according to international media reports. BBC cited US President Donald Trump, who announced the development on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Details regarding how or where Maduro and his wife were captured have not yet been disclosed.

Following the military operation, the Venezuelan government declared a national emergency, strongly rejecting and condemning what it described as “military aggression”. At the time of reporting, Caracas had not responded directly to President Trump’s social media statement.

In his post, President Trump stated that Maduro has been “removed from Venezuela”, emphasizing that the operation targeted the Venezuelan leadership and security structure.

The situation remains highly fluid, and the international community is closely monitoring developments in Venezuela as tensions in the region escalate.
