DHAKA, March 24, (V7N) — Indian President Droupadi Murmu has extended warm greetings to Bangladesh on its Independence and National Day, reaffirming India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and advancing regional peace, stability and prosperity.

In a letter to Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin, she wrote: “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I extend warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency and to the friendly people of Bangladesh on the occasion of your National Day.”

Highlighting the deep‑rooted ties between the two countries, Murmu said India and Bangladesh are bound by a shared history, cultural linkages and linguistic traditions that form the foundation of their close partnership.

She noted that both nations have made significant progress in advancing people‑centric development across key sectors including connectivity, trade, development partnership, power and energy, capacity building and education, delivering tangible benefits to citizens on both sides of the border.

Reaffirming India’s commitment, she said: “India looks forward to working closely with Bangladesh to further strengthen our bilateral partnership and to advance regional peace, stability and prosperity.”

The letter concluded with her best wishes to the Government and people of Bangladesh.
