Dhaka, Oct 12 (V7N): Chief Adviser to the interim government, Prof. Muhammad Yunus, expressed his vision for a Bangladesh where the rights of every citizen are upheld. He made this statement today at an event held at the Dhakeshwari Temple in the capital, marking the Sharadiya Durga Puja celebrations.
Addressing societal issues, Yunus pointed out that students and ordinary people have consistently rejected a society plagued by irregularities and violence, even sacrificing their lives for the vision of a new Bangladesh. He emphasized that the government is committed to turning this vision into reality, not just through words but through action.
Yunus also remarked that Durga Puja has sparked a festive wave throughout the country, and citizens are enjoying the rare opportunity of four consecutive holidays. He noted that the celebrations are being enjoyed not only by Sanatan practitioners but by everyone in the country, creating a sense of unity and joy.
He praised law enforcement agencies for their "tough" task of ensuring public safety during the celebrations, but he also highlighted that depending solely on law enforcement for security during festivals reflects a collective failure.
