New York, Sep 28 (V7N) – Chief Adviser to the Interim Government Dr. Muhammad Yunus has said that expatriates are an integral part of Bangladesh and have a vital role in advancing the transformation that began with the July Revolution. He urged the expatriate community to actively participate in the reconstruction process of the country.

The Chief Adviser made the remarks at an event organized by the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) in New York on Saturday.

In his speech, Dr. Yunus emphasized that the rebuilding of Bangladesh is already underway. Reflecting on the past year, he also recounted the challenges of forming the interim government during a period of political turmoil.

He praised expatriate Bangladeshis for their contribution to the economy, highlighting a 21% growth in remittance inflows, and stressed the government’s efforts to create an investment-friendly environment.

Leaders of BNP, Jamaat and NCP were present alongside the Chief Adviser at the event, as they had been during the UN session earlier. Also attending were Special Envoy Lutfi Siddiqui, National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman, and Legal Adviser Asif Nazrul. The program was moderated by BIDA Executive Chairman Ashiq Chowdhury.
