New York, Sep 28 (V7N) – Bangladesh has called for immediate and effective international measures to end the ongoing Israeli occupation and violence in Palestine.

The call was made by Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain while addressing the annual coordination meeting of OIC foreign ministers at the organization’s headquarters on Friday, during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Reaffirming Bangladesh’s unwavering support for the just struggle of the Palestinian people, the Advisor stressed that sustainable peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved without justice and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Towhid Hossain also underlined the importance of reforming the OIC structure, enhancing resource mobilization, and promoting implementation-oriented cooperation to make the organization more effective in addressing the challenges facing the Muslim world.

He highlighted Bangladesh’s contributions toward strengthening Islamic unity and its role in the OIC’s ten-year program of action.

The meeting brought together foreign ministers of OIC member states to coordinate positions on pressing global issues, including peace and security, the Palestinian question, and shared development priorities.
