Dhaka, Oct 01 (V7N) – The autumn Durga Puja continues across the country, and today marks Mahanavami, a day blending joy and spiritual reflection. Devotees worship Goddess Siddhidhatri through the sixteenth Upachar, seeking liberation and worldly welfare.
On Wednesday (Oct 1), Kalparambah and Bihit Puja ceremonies were held at the mandaps, with followers of Sanatan Dharma praying for peace and prosperity. The formalities concluded with Anjali, while the emotional farewell of the Devi added a note of poignancy to the celebrations.
Despite the solemnity, the mandaps remain vibrant with festive joy and excitement. After the evening Mahaaarti, preparations will begin for the goddess’s return to Kailash on Vijaya Dashami (Oct 2). This year, Mahishasuramardini will depart riding a horse, considered auspicious according to scriptures, symbolizing prosperity and comfort.
Senior officials from law enforcement agencies visited the Dhakeshwari Temple today to oversee arrangements and ensure a smooth and safe celebration.
