Dhaka, Dec 04 (V7N) - The Bangladesh Election Commission has announced that registration for expatriate voters through the ‘Postal Vote BD’ mobile application will remain open until December 25. The app, launched on November 18, allows Bangladeshis living abroad to register and vote in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections.

Government employees and other voters unable to cast ballots in their local constituencies are also eligible to register through the app. Those who have not yet registered are urged to complete the process within the specified timeframe.

For voters residing in Bangladesh, the Election Commission has encouraged them to assist their expatriate family members or friends in registering via the app to ensure maximum participation in the election.

To receive postal ballots, expatriate voters must provide accurate addresses in their country of residence. If needed, they may use the address of a trusted relative, friend, or a well-known local institution to ensure successful delivery of ballots.

The initiative is part of Bangladesh Election Commission’s ongoing efforts to facilitate voting for citizens living abroad and to enhance inclusive participation in the country’s democratic process.
