Dhaka, September 02 — Financial advisor Dr. Saleh Uddin Ahmed announced on Monday that a revision of the national budget may occur either this month or next. Speaking to reporters after a meeting with officials from the Export Development Bureau at the Secretariat, Dr. Ahmed indicated that adjustments to the Annual Development Program (ADP) are also anticipated.

Dr. Ahmed highlighted that the Planning Adviser will undertake all necessary steps to amend the ADP, aiming to streamline expenses by eliminating unnecessary costs. "We are committed to rationalizing expenditures to ensure effective use of resources," he stated.

Regarding economic performance, Dr. Ahmed mentioned that the official export target would be published soon and that current assessments are underway to determine the accurate GDP figures and growth statistics.

In addition, Dr. Ahmed confirmed that the opportunity for whitening black money has been halted, signaling a crackdown on illicit financial activities.

Addressing concerns about currency, he noted that the condition of 5, 10, and 20 taka notes in circulation is deteriorating. "We will take swift action to replace these notes," he said, urging the public to handle currency with care.

The upcoming revisions and measures aim to address economic challenges and ensure fiscal stability in the country.
