Dhaka, Dec 12 (V7N) — The price of gold has increased again in the local market, rising by Tk 1,050 per bhori. With the latest adjustment, the price of 22-carat (good quality) gold now stands at Tk 2,12,000 per bhori. The new rates came into effect from Friday (December 12) morning.

According to the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS), the price of acidic gold has risen locally, prompting this latest adjustment. They also noted a slight increase in gold prices in the international market.

Gold imports remain low, with most gold entering the country under baggage rules, contributing to volatility in the local market. Over recent months, gold prices have fluctuated frequently.

Earlier, on October 17, gold prices hit a record high in Bangladesh, reaching Tk 2,17,382 per bhori, the highest ever recorded. Traditional method gold was sold at Tk 1,43,689 per bhori at that time.
