Sheikh Mohammad Ashfaque, who currently serves as the Head of Branches at BRAC Bank, has been promoted to the position of Deputy Managing Director (DMD), effective from April 1, 2024, as announced in a media release.

In his previous role, Mr. Ashfaque led the distribution network comprising 187 branches and 40 Sub-branches, while also overseeing Premium Banking, Branch Corporate, and Government Relations segments. He played a crucial role in expanding the Distribution Network and contributed significantly to the bank's deposit growth during challenging times.

Mr. Ashfaque's journey with BRAC Bank began in 2006, and his extensive experience across Branch, Corporate, and Retail Banking, coupled with his involvement in strategic planning, has been invaluable to the bank. He is a graduate of the University of Dhaka with an MBA from North South University and has received training from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Having gained a global perspective through leadership training in GABV member countries and active participation as a GABV alumnus, Mr. Ashfaque is uniquely positioned to lead BRAC Bank's mainstream channels, according to the release.

Selim R F Hussain, Managing Director, and CEO of BRAC Bank, expressed confidence in Mr. Ashfaque's abilities, citing his dedication and past achievements. He believes that in his new role as DMD, Mr. Ashfaque will drive the Distribution Network business to new heights and establish BRAC Bank as a market leader.
