Dhaka, Apr 25 (V7N)- Mohammad Ejaz, the Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), revealed that the DNCC is conducting public hearings in each ward to better understand the issues faced by residents. He shared these details with reporters during his inspection of the ongoing development work in the Beraid area on Friday morning.
Ejaz acknowledged that the 18 wards in the northern region of Dhaka are facing significant challenges, particularly in terms of poor road conditions and persistent waterlogging. He emphasized that despite numerous complaints from residents, many of these areas are still dealing with knee-deep water on the roads, and the only tax being collected in these wards is the holding tax.
On a positive note, Ejaz reassured the public that the DNCC plans to build new roads where they will provide tangible benefits to local residents. He mentioned that 19 kilometers of roads are currently under construction in the Beraid area, with more planned in the future.
He also issued a stern warning to contractors involved in development projects, stating that those found guilty of irregularities in their work will be blacklisted.
The DNCC Administrator’s remarks highlight ongoing efforts to address infrastructure concerns and improve public services in Dhaka North.
