Chattogram, Aug 26 (V7N) - A low-pressure system over the north-western Bay of Bengal and adjacent southern regions of Bangladesh has intensified into a prominent low-pressure area centered over Gangetic West Bengal and nearby areas. This development has caused the formation of significant convective clouds in the northern Bay of Bengal.

As a result, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning about potential squally weather conditions impacting the northern Bay, coastal areas of Bangladesh, and maritime ports. The alert was announced today and signed by meteorologist Hafizur Rahman.

The advisory specifies that Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra ports are to display local cautionary signal number three (03), indicating heightened weather conditions.

Additionally, all fishing boats and trawlers in the northern Bay of Bengal are advised to remain close to shore and exercise caution until further updates are provided. This guidance aims to ensure the safety of maritime operations in light of the expected adverse weather.
