Rajshahi, Dec 26, (V7N) – A human chain was held in Rajshahi to protest the recent attack by Sadeq group followers at the Bishwa Ijtema ground in Tongi, which resulted in deaths and injuries.

The event took place on Wednesday, December 25, at 10:30 AM, in front of the Sadar Jame Masjid near Alupatti Mor, organized by the Ulema Mashayekh and the members of Tablighi Jamaat.

Speakers at the human chain strongly condemned the December 17 attack at the Ijtema ground in Tongi. They accused the Sadeq group followers of being supported by Israel and India and presented three demands:

Immediate arrest and execution of Sadeq group terrorists—Syed Wasiful Islam, Dr. Kazi Erteza Hasan, Muaz bin Noor, Osama Islam, Maulana Abdullah Mansur, Maulana Reza Arif, Zia bin Kashem, Mohammad Salman Kazi, and others—who launched the attack on the sleeping, innocent Tablighi Jamaat followers in the dead of night.

A ban on all activities of Sadeq group followers in all mosques across Bangladesh, including in Dhaka District.

The Sadeq group, similar to the banning of the Chhatra League as a terrorist organization, should also be banned under the same law.

After the human chain, a protest march began in front of the Boalia Police Station in the city. The procession, chanting “Takbeer Allahu Akbar,” circled the Sahab Bazar Zero Point before returning peacefully to the Alupatti Mor area, where the program concluded.

Among those present were Maulana Mohammad Abu Talha, member of the Sura of Tablighi Jamaat’s (Maulana Zubair Group) Markaz in Rajshahi, Maulana Abdullah Saeed, Maulana Mohammad Zawadul Haque, and Maulana Murshed Faruq, President of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Islamic Movement.
