Khagrachari, Jan 31 (V7N) - A three-day Pitha Festival and Exhibition showcasing products by local entrepreneurs has begun in Khagrachari as part of the "Esho Desh Badlai, Prithibi Badlai-Tarunner Utsab 2025" event. The festival opened this morning at the Town Hall premises with the support of the District Administration, Khagrachhari Women’s Affairs Department, National Women’s Organization, and Khagrachhari Women Development Organization.

The event was inaugurated by the District Commissioner of Khagrachhari, A.B.M. Iftikharul Islam Khandakar, who cut the ribbon and released balloons to mark the start of the festivities.

Present at the opening ceremony were Deputy Director of the Local Government Department and Municipal Administrator Nazmun Ara Sultana, among others. Organizers shared that the participation of women entrepreneurs is not only boosting the economy but also helping to reduce poverty, create jobs, and serve as a model for women empowerment. The aim of this event is to raise awareness about women entrepreneurs, promote their products, and inspire new entrepreneurs.

This year’s festival features 20 stalls, offering a variety of 60 different types of traditional and local pithas (rice cakes). The exhibition is open to visitors daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will continue until January 31.
