Rajshahi, Mar 03 (V7N) - The body of Altaf Hossain, a 45-year-old auto-van driver, was discovered on the banks of the Baranai River in Baghsara, Paba Upazila, Rajshahi, on Monday morning (March 4). Locals found the body and informed the police. Altaf, son of Mansur Ali and a resident of Baghsara village, had reportedly left home after Iftar on Sunday but did not return.
According to police, no visible injury marks were found on the body during the initial examination. However, authorities suspect that he may have been murdered due to prior enmity. The body has been sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police’s Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) stated that an investigation has been launched to uncover further details and identify any suspects involved. The police are exploring all possible motives behind the incident.
The case has raised concerns among locals, who are urging authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and swift justice. Further updates are expected following the autopsy report and ongoing inquiries.
