Rajshahi, Mar 11 (V7N) - A new organization called the "July-36 Parishad" has been established in Rajshahi, aimed at combating fascism and promoting cultural and social activities inspired by the country's heritage. The organization was officially announced during an Iftar and discussion meeting at Anshu Book Cafe on March 10, 2025. Mahmud Jamal Quaderi has been elected as the convener, while Asaduzzaman Jewel serves as the member secretary.
The committee consists of a 15-member convening group and a 7-member advisory council, which includes notable figures such as Professor Sheikh Md. Nurullah and veteran journalist Md. Nazib Wadud. During the meeting, the organizers expressed their commitment to uniting against various forms of oppression and corruption that have emerged in the country, particularly following the fall of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The July-36 Parishad aims to inspire creative individuals through cultural engagement and to mobilize public support against what they describe as rising fascist activities, including crime and political manipulation. The organizers emphasized the need for solidarity among students and citizens to restore democratic values in society.
The meeting concluded with plans for potential adjustments to the committee's membership within the next 30 days, aiming to strengthen the organization further. The advisory council's advisor, Nazib Wadud, ended the program with a special prayer for unity and justice.
