Rajshahi, Mar 11 (V7N) - Rajshahi, Bangladesh – Zahidul Islam, the central president of the Islamic Students' Union, has declared that their movement is not only against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina but against all those who exhibit fascist behavior. Speaking at a Quran distribution program at Rabindra-Nazrul Chattar on Tuesday, he accused Hasina of trying to retain power at any cost, but emphasized that their struggle extends beyond her rule.

Recalling past government crackdowns, Islam said the 1982 Motihar Square killings failed to wipe out their student organization, and the 2024 mass uprising proved that truth cannot be erased. He called on supporters to uphold the spirit of July and fight for justice in honor of past martyrs.

Islam criticized man-made ideologies, arguing that they ultimately fail to ensure justice and fairness. He insisted that only the teachings of the Quran can establish true peace in society, urging his followers to uphold its values in governance and daily life.

The event was attended by key figures, including Rajshahi Metropolitan Chhatra Shibir President Samim Uddin, Information and Development Secretary Nahidul Islam, and Rajshahi University professor Shah Hossain Ahmed Mehedi from the Department of Zoology. They echoed the call for a justice-based system aligned with Islamic teachings.

The Islamic Students' Union remains a controversial but influential force in student politics, often clashing with opposing groups. With growing political uncertainty, the organization’s stance signals renewed activism in Bangladesh’s post-Hasina era.
