Tangail, Mar 17 (V7N)– The vibrant red-orange blossoms of the Palash tree have transformed the Tangail Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) building courtyard into a spectacle of spring, drawing nature lovers and photographers alike.
As spring reaches its peak, the Palash trees, known for their fiery blooms, are displaying their full glory. A single Palash tree, planted several years ago, now stands adorned with a profusion of flowers, creating a stunning visual contrast against the backdrop of the LGED building.
"When seen from a distance, it seems as if the tree is on fire," said one regular visitor.
The Palash, a symbol of spring in Bengali culture, is celebrated in poetry and literature. Its vibrant color and leafless branches in bloom create a striking visual, reminiscent of flames. Visitors are captivated by the tree's beauty, capturing its image in photos and videos.
The LGED premises, with its diverse tree plantings, serves as an eco-friendly space, contributing to climate change mitigation and local ecosystem balance. The trees help reduce heat and maintain environmental harmony.
"Every spring, I come here to enjoy the beauty of the Palash flowers," said a local resident. "Seeing such a beautiful play of colors in nature makes my heart happy."
Environmentalists, however, express concern over the declining number of Palash trees due to urbanization and deforestation. They urge government and private institutions to plant and preserve these trees, ensuring future generations can enjoy their beauty.
"If such initiatives are taken by other government and private institutions in the city, it will be very positive for the environment," said a local environmentalist.
The Palash tree, besides its aesthetic value, holds medicinal properties and plays a crucial role in soil erosion prevention and dry forest ecosystem maintenance.
Tangail LGED Executive Engineer Mohammad Kamruzzaman highlighted the positive impact of the blooming Palash, stating, "The beauty of the Palash flowers in the building premises has created a unique atmosphere – which is spreading the joy of spring among nature and people. If such greening activities are expanded further, it will not only be beneficial for the environment, but we will also be able to enjoy the colorful touch of spring in the future."
This vibrant display of nature's artistry underscores the importance of preserving natural beauty amidst urban development.
