Morelganj, Bagerhat, Apr 15 (V7N)– Nine teachers appointed to oversee the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations at the Morelganj Government Secondary Girls' School center in Bagerhat have been suspended for two years due to alleged dereliction of duty. The disciplinary action was taken by the president of the examination management committee and Upazila Executive Officer (UEO) Md. Habibullah following the recovery of unauthorized materials during an inspection.

"The president of the examination management committee and Upazila Executive Officer Md. Habibullah is expelling 9 teachers from the Morelganj Government Secondary Girls' School center for the ongoing SSC examination in Morelganj, Bagerhat, for dereliction of duty," reported M. Palash Sharif from Bagerhat.

On Tuesday, the second day of the English First Paper examination, UEO Md. Habibullah, during an inspection by the vigilance team, reportedly discovered subject-related books, mobile phones, and notebooks in bags on the tables within three examination rooms. As a result of this discovery, the nine teachers responsible for invigilation in these rooms have been suspended from conducting public examinations for a period of two years, covering the 2025 and 2026 academic years, citing negligence of their assigned duties.

"On Tuesday, the 2nd day of the English first paper examination, during the vigilance team inspection, Upazila Executive Officer Md. Habibullah... Subject-based books, mobile phones, notebooks were recovered from the table in 3 rooms in bags. 9 teachers who were appointed by the center to conduct the SSC examination have been given a suspension for 2 years from the 2025-2026 public examination due to negligence of duty," Sharif detailed.

The suspended teachers have been identified as:

Md. Masum Billah, Assistant Teacher, Chipa Barikhali Secondary School (Room No. 101)

Nimai Chandra Roy, Assistant Teacher, Chipa Barikhali Secondary School (Room No. 101)

Shahnaz, Assistant Teacher, Jiudhara Serjon Smriti Secondary School (Room No. 110)

Taposh Majumder, Assistant Teacher (Room No. 2010 - likely a typo and should be Room No. 201)

Shahidul Islam, Assistant Teacher (Room No. 201)

Soheli Parvin, Assistant Teacher, Shaheed Sheikh Russell Mujib Secondary School (Room No. 201)

Koli Debnath, Assistant Teacher, Shaheed Sheikh Russell Mujib Secondary School (Room No. 201)

Nasir Uddin Khan, Assistant Teacher, Shaheed Sheikh Russell Mujib Secondary School (Room No. 201)

Safarul Islam, Assistant Teacher, Esilaha Pilot High School

It is noted that a total of 474 candidates from various educational institutions are participating in the SSC examinations at this particular center.

"They are Assistant Teacher Md. of Chipa Barikhali Secondary School in Room No. 101. Masum Billah, Assistant Teacher Nimai Chandra Roy of the same school, Assistant Teacher Shahnaz of Jiudhara Serjon Smriti Secondary School in Room No. 110, Assistant Teacher Taposh Majumder of Room No. 2010, Assistant Teacher Shahidul Islam, Assistant Teacher Soheli Parvin, Assistant Teacher Koli Debnath of Shaheed Sheikh Russell Mujib Secondary School in the same room, Nasir Uddin Khan of the same school, Assistant Teacher Safarul Islam of Esilaha Pilot High School. It is worth noting that 474 candidates from various educational institutions took part in the examination at this center," Sharif reported.

UEO Md. Habibullah, in his capacity as the president of the examination management committee, confirmed the disciplinary action, stating that the nine teachers have been suspended for two years due to their failure to properly perform their duties during the public examination.

"In this regard, the president of the examination management committee and Morelganj Upazila Executive Officer Md. Habibullah said that 9 teachers have been suspended for 2 years due to negligence of duty during the public examination," UEO Habibullah affirmed.
