Kushtia, Feb 19, (V7N) - A two-day workshop on "Basic Hygiene and Safe Food Preparation" was jointly organized by the Department of Applied Nutrition and Food Technology and the JICA-STIRC project at IU. The workshop, held at the Dr. Wazed Miah Science Building, focused on improving food safety in the university's canteens, dining halls, and food outlets.

Presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Hafizur Rahman, Chairman of the Department, the event featured Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nakib Mohammed Nasrullah as the chief guest. Special guests included Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Ayakub Ali, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Proctor Professor Dr. Md. Shahinuzzaman, and JICA-STIRC Project Coordinator Masami Sakai.

In his address, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Nasrullah emphasized the importance of food safety and urged hall administrations, dining staff, and cooks to be more vigilant in ensuring safe food preparation.
