In a significant development, Professor Dr. Nizamul Karim, a highly esteemed academic, has been appointed as the Chairman of the prestigious Cumilla Board of Secondary and Higher Education. The announcement of his new role was made on Tuesday through an official notification issued by Chowdhury Samia Yasmin, Deputy Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division within the Ministry of Education.

Prior to this appointment, Professor Dr. Nizamul Karim served as the Director General (DG) at the renowned National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM), showcasing his leadership and administrative capabilities in the field of education.

Born in 1966 in Chauddagram, Cumilla, Dr. Nizamul Karim has a strong educational background. He successfully completed his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under the Cumilla Education Board. His academic journey continued as he pursued undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in management at Chittagong University. Dr. Karim further distinguished himself by attaining a doctorate in administration from the Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS) at Rajshahi University.

A civil servant belonging to the BCS (General Education) cadre, Dr. Nizamul Karim embarked on his professional journey in 1993 when he assumed the role of an instructor in management at Comilla Victoria Government College. Over the years, his dedication and expertise in the field led to his promotion to the esteemed rank of professor in 2017. His specialized knowledge encompasses the realms of management and the administration of educational institutions, where he has held various consequential roles.
