A confrontation between the Arakan Army, an armed rebel organization in Myanmar's neighboring Rakhine state, and the Myanmar military has forced 58 personnel of the Border Guard Police (BGP) to seek safety along the Bangladeshi border.
Eighty-five members of the BGP, also known as Nasaka, have sought refuge along the border, according to BGB Headquarters' public relations officer Shariful Islam.

Voice7 News According to the Cox's Bazar correspondent, two Bangladeshis were shot during Sunday morning gunfire between the Myanmar army and armed groups in the Tumbru region near the Ghumdhum border in the Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban.
One of the injured, Pobindra Dhar, was listed as having a critical condition.
According to locals, for the past three days, there has been a brutal fight within Myanmar between armed groups and the country's army.
Extremely powerful explosives and ammunition have been employed, and as a result of their tremendous blast, the Ghumdhum border area is now hot.
Bullet and mortar bombs are dropping on the zero line, according to AKM Jahangir Aziz, Chairman of the Ghumdhum Union Parishad. Residents at Tumbru, Baishfari, and Bhajabnia border points on his union's border are currently in a state of acute terror as a result.
