Netrokona, Feb 09, (V7N) - Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Secretary-General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP, accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of conspiring against Bangladesh with the support of India’s BJP government. He alleged that Hasina, while in India, was making provocative statements to instigate communal violence in Bangladesh. According to him, these provocations led to attacks and vandalism in 35 districts, including the attack on the Dhaka residence in Dhanmondi.
He made these comments while addressing a workers' conference organized by the Netrokona District Jamaat-e-Islami on Saturday afternoon. Parwar further claimed that the anger caused by the oppression of the people during Hasina's rule is the root cause of the ongoing attacks across the country. He called on the government to ensure free and fair elections under a reformed, neutral Election Commission.
During his speech, he urged party leaders, activists, and students to maintain peace and abide by the law to preserve the country’s law and order.
The event was chaired by Netrokona District Jamaat-e-Islami Amir, Professor Maulana Sadeq Ahmad Haris, and was attended by several key leaders, including Advocate Matiur Rahman, Secretary of the Jamaat-e-Islami Central Council, Dr. Samiul Haque Faruqi, Central Organizational Secretary and Director of Mymensingh Region, and others.
Before the rally, party leaders and activists joined the gathering, arriving in groups from various sub-districts of Netrokona.
