Bagerhat, Feb 09, (V7N) – In a farmers' rally in Bagerhat's Morelganj, Kazi Khairuzzaman Shipon, the district BNP leader and a party nominee for Bagerhat-4 (Morelganj-Shoronkhola), emphasized the importance of farmers for the country's progress. He recalled how BNP founder and martyred President Ziaur Rahman prioritized the welfare of farmers, declaring that if farmers thrive, the nation will thrive. Under BNP rule, agriculture flourished and a revolution in crop production was achieved.
 
The rally was held at the Boloibunia Union Parishad ground on Saturday evening. Union BNP President Md. Arif Shikdar chaired the event, which also saw special speeches from various leaders including District Kisan Party Chief Asaduzzaman Jewel, Upazila BNP Joint Convener Shamim Ahsan Fakir, and others.
 
In his address, Shipon also referred to Tarique Rahman's 31-point plan for state reform, which includes policies to improve farmers' lives. He called for a fair and impartial election and for a transitional government to hand over power to an elected government.
