Dhaka, July 30 (V7N) – The Chhatra Dal has decided to relocate its planned August 3 student rally from Shaheed Minar to Shahbagh, following a request from the National Citizens Party (NCP). The decision was announced by Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib during a press conference held at the party office in Nayapaltan on Wednesday (July 30).

Rakib stated that although Chhatra Dal had announced the rally in June, the NCP later declared a separate event at the same venue. "Even though two rallies in the same vicinity do not necessarily mean there will be clashes, Chhatra Dal does not want to fall into any trap or create unnecessary tension," he said.

Positive Outlook on Election Schedule

Speaking at the same event, Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin, also a DUCSU and Hall Sangsad representative, addressed the recent political developments. He noted that while only 3–4 out of 40 submitted recommendations have been accepted, Chhatra Dal still views the announcement of the election schedule as a positive step.

The organization reiterated its commitment to continuing peaceful student activism and called for broader acceptance of their reform proposals in the lead-up to the next election.
