Netrokona, Aug 30 (V7N) – BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has stated that the upcoming parliamentary elections in February 2026 cannot be stopped, emphasizing that the people of Bangladesh are now fully election-oriented.
Speaking as the chief guest at the Netrokona district BNP conference on Saturday morning, Salahuddin Ahmed said, “We are carrying out constitutional and democratic reforms to ensure that fascism never arises in this country again.”
He added that while the BNP plans to implement further reforms after the elections, the current government could implement reforms that do not require constitutional amendments immediately.
Regarding the electoral process, the BNP leader said, “The elections will be held before Ramadan in 2026. No one will be able to stop the elections. Only Allah Rabbul Al Amin.”
Salahuddin Ahmed also alleged that some people are attempting to disrupt the elections on flimsy pretexts. “An electoral atmosphere has been created in the country, and candidates have already started mass communication. Anyone making anti-election statements will be rejected by the people,” he added.
