Dhaka, Sep 03 (V7N) – BNP leaders have made separate comments on the nation's electoral system and the integrity of the upcoming elections, urging their supporters to remain vigilant.
Speaking at a road meeting in Doha to commemorate the party's founding anniversary on Wednesday afternoon, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi stated that the people of the country desire to directly elect their preferred representatives rather than vote for a proportional system. During the event, he also called on activists to vote for the Chhatra Dal panel in the DUCSU elections. Following his address, Rizvi led a rally alongside local leaders and activists, including Dhaka District BNP President Khandaker Abu Ashfaq.
Separately, BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain spoke at a program in Hili, Dinajpur. He urged everyone to be vigilant to prevent any external incitement from a neighboring country that could lead to election sabotage. Dr. Hossain alleged that a conspiracy is underway to delay the election. The program was followed by a colorful rally from the Hili Charmatha intersection.
