Dhaka, Sep 06 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that division is being created in the name of religion through various fatwas, but breaking down shrines and burning bodies is never part of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

He made the remarks at a Milad Mahfil organized on the occasion of the holy Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) at the BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan on Saturday.

Rizvi alleged that the country is now facing anarchy and hinted at an “international conspiracy” behind the activities of monotheistic groups. “Just as Sheikh Hasina conspired to tarnish the image of the country during the BNP period, the interim government must investigate whether such conspiracies are being hatched again,” he said.

The BNP leader also claimed that conspiracies are being driven from within the country. “Even during the Pakistan period, there were no incidents of attacking shrines or burning bodies,” he noted.

Questioning the recent surge in religious violence, Rizvi asked, “Why is such anarchy suddenly on the rise now?”
