Dhaka, Sep 11 (V7N) – BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed deep shock and condemnation over the shooting death of conservative US political leader Charlie Kirk in Utah.

In a statement issued Wednesday night, Tarique Rahman described the killing as “brutal” and said it had cast a “shadow of grief over the whole world.”

“In a democratic society, no one should ever be a victim of violence just because of political beliefs and activism. Regardless of religion, ideology, or perspective, it is unacceptable for anyone’s life to end in such a heinous manner,” he said.

The BNP leader also extended his condolences and prayers to Kirk’s family and loved ones.

Charlie Kirk, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, was shot dead Wednesday on the University of Utah campus. Founder of Turning Point USA, Kirk rose to prominence as a right-wing activist, playing a pivotal role in mobilizing young voters for Trump in the last US election.

Meanwhile, President Trump has also expressed his sorrow, calling the killing “a very sad incident.”
