Dhaka, Sep 18 (V7N) – BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. Abdul Moin Khan has emphasized that reforms will only be effective if mutual trust and respect exist among political parties. He stressed the need for open-minded discussions instead of rigid, traditional politics.

Speaking at a discussion titled “Democratic Restructuring” at the CIRDAP auditorium in Dhaka on Thursday (September 18), Dr. Moin Khan cautioned that it is unrealistic to expect full consensus among all political parties on reforms. “I do not believe in bringing everyone together in a democratic process. We must move beyond the traditional approach. If politics continues with closed minds, consequences like August 5 could happen again,” he warned, calling for reforms within the ongoing reform process itself.

Highlighting security concerns, the BNP leader urged for the increased use of technology to ensure wartime security. He further stressed safeguarding fuel, food, media, and social media, and said that “the security of ordinary people should come before the security of the state.”

On the elections, Dr. Moin Khan noted that there is broad agreement among political parties on the need for fair elections. “Whoever the voters choose will win. There is no dispute about this,” he added.
