Dhaka, Sep 26 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections were conducted improperly and that the administration ignored reported irregularities.
Speaking at the sixth memorial meeting of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and Chhatra Dal founding president Kazi Asaduzzaman in Mirpur-1 on Friday afternoon, Rizvi criticized the ballot process, stating, “The ballot paper was printed in the blue field—how can it be suppressed? The administration deceived the students by holding elections on an uneven ground to achieve someone’s objectives.”
He further alleged that Sheikh Hasina buried the election system to retain power and warned that any blueprint to manipulate outcomes will not be accepted by the nation. Rizvi expressed concern that continued irregularities could make the next national elections risky.
BNP Standing Committee member Selima Rahman also criticized the ruling party, saying Sheikh Hasina had destroyed public values and that BNP seeks a political system where democracy prevails and people can speak freely. She emphasized unity among party members to honor the martyrs of the 2024 mass uprising.
