Dhaka, Oct 18 (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has alleged that fascist forces under the guise of students have infiltrated the July fighters’ movement and were responsible for creating chaos in the Parliament building area on Friday.

He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after paying homage at Ziaur Rahman’s tomb on Saturday (October 18).

“The July fighters had a logical demand, and I also supported fulfilling that demand. Later, the Consensus Commission amended the pledge in the July Charter accordingly. Even then, they should not have been dissatisfied,” Salahuddin said.

He claimed that the chaos seen on Friday was instigated by Awami fascist elements seeking to disrupt the event.

“In democracy, everyone does not have to agree. There can be differences of opinion,” he said, adding that the NCP and four leftist parties’ decision not to sign the July Charter would not affect the upcoming elections.

However, he expressed optimism that those parties might sign the charter later.
