Dhaka, Oct 19 (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed has alleged that chaos is being created around the July Charter signing ceremony by groups identifying themselves as students, warning that “Awami fascists” may have infiltrated the movement.
He made the remarks at a press conference held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Sunday (October 19).
“The student uprising took place based on the continuous struggle of different parties — it is a reflection of our national strength,” Salahuddin said. “An effort has been made to honor those individuals and organizations involved in it, ensuring they are not made controversial in any way. Any attempt to portray BNP as opposing the July uprising will not succeed.”
Salahuddin also welcomed NCP convener Nahid Islam’s recent statement calling for an apology, saying it was a positive step toward national unity.
The BNP leader added that several recent incidents in the country appear to be interlinked, suggesting that there may be attempts to create political instability.
He urged everyone to avoid misinterpreting or distorting BNP’s statements, emphasizing that the party remains committed to democracy and peaceful political progress.
