Dhaka, Nov 17 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that the BNP does not anticipate or expect any specific verdict, as it is solely the court’s responsibility to deliver judgment. However, he emphasized that “whoever commits crimes must face a fair trial.”
He made the remarks at a press conference held at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Monday afternoon.
Rizvi alleged that the crimes committed by Sheikh Hasina are “countless and indescribable,” stating that the people of the country want justice.
“Today’s verdict will surely set an example,” he said.
Reiterating the party’s stance for a peaceful Bangladesh, he said the BNP envisions a country where citizens of all views can express themselves without fear.
He stressed that ensuring justice and punishment for those involved in wrongdoing is essential, adding, “Every citizen expects equal application of the law, and only the court can fulfill that expectation through a fair trial.”
Rizvi also announced that the BNP has instructed its leaders and activists not to hold any celebratory event, including cake cutting, on the birth anniversary of the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman on November 20.
He urged anyone considering such events to donate the money instead.
