Dhaka, Nov 22 (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has alleged that a political party is attempting to secure its demands through undemocratic means and conspiring to delay the upcoming national election. He said that the people of Bangladesh will not accept any such attempt.

He made the remarks on Saturday morning at a discussion meeting organized by the Zia Parishad at the National Press Club.

“The struggle for democracy is not over,” Amir Khasru said. “To protect democracy, political forces must win the electoral battle. Otherwise, Bangladesh will lose. BNP is still enduring many things for the sake of democracy.”

Calling for broader participation, he stressed that more women should be involved in the upcoming parliamentary election.

The BNP leader also highlighted the need for a shift in political culture.
“If political culture does not change, even a hundred reforms will be useless,” he said. “We must practice tolerant politics, respect differing views, and accept dissent even when we disagree.”

Amir Khasru emphasized that only democratic values and mutual respect can ensure a stable and forward-moving Bangladesh.
